My photography reflects my role as a wanderer. My creative process relies heavily on the pursuit of images that are only accessible by foot, through a steady, composed urge to roam. The images that follow carry this sense of composure through their composition. The subjects of each photo epitomize the curiosity that surfaces from the environment that surrounds them.
Having moved out West in 2021, new landscapes helped me to realize this innate habit of documentation. When revisiting my archive, I was able to relate photos I would have never put side by side. Separated by time and location, yet completely unified by the composition of curiosity. Subjects are non-human, but they might as well be called portraits; they evoke the nostalgia of a time and place with an old friend.
I’ve put together this series to unite and preserve a journey that often seems scattered, but realistically is all connected.
